BASG Helps Regional Bank Increase Account Opening Efficiency

SCOPE OF ENGAGEMENT

A major regional bank recognized the need for an enhanced account opening platform.  The goal was to enrich the customer experience and become more competitive in the banking community by reducing the time and effort required to establish a new account.  In the interest of success, the Bank needed a dedicated Senior Test Manager.

THE SOLUTION

The BASG Consultant, a Senior Test Manager with a strong background in banking, was involved from the onset of the project and worked closely with the full Implementation Team.  The role was to plan, design, manage and deploy effective test plans and test cases for user acceptance of new software, information system launches and enhancements.

The scope of work included every phase of testing, from developing the initial test strategy, translating business requirements into test cases, defining appropriate prioritization, and ensuring all functional requirements were met.  The Test Manager also developed and managed the execution of test scenarios, reported findings, and resolved defects.

A major focus of the work was to quickly build professional relationships needed across the full scope of the project to ensure the Team could advance effective resolutions to testing issues and conflicts.  Communication with all affected internal personnel, vendor representatives, and the executive team was paramount to her success.

 THE RESULT

 The BASG Senior Test Manager was credited with several significant contributions which moved the project to completion on time, within budget and with few issues or distractions.

The completion of the implementation allows the average customer to open a new account faster, with less errors, and repetitive data entries than was possible under the original system.  In today’s rush to speed world the improved time is not just a competitive advantage, it is a necessity if the Bank is to compete for new customers and retain those already on board.
